TOPIC: WHERE ARE YOU?

Read: Genesis 3:3-13
MEMORISE: And the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate” (Genesis 3:13).

EXPOSITION
On the International scene, today is the World Suicide Prevention Day. On a day like this, a discuss of the fall of Adam and Eve is relevant. What they did is like committing suicide. They followed Satan’s advice to disobey God’s command that eventually brought them death. Isn’t that suicidal!

It is only in few places, that God has asked man questions; one of those few places is in verse 9 of Genesis chapter three: Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, "Where are you?".

When a question like the above comes your way, God is driving at something. It could be to just confirm that you are in your proper position or location, or to know your point of relocation or dislocation. It is therefore either of the three possibilities: you may have relocated, or you have been dislocated, or you are where you have been allotted to stay.

For Adam and Eve, they were not in their allotted place. They had moved from where they were kept to the wrong side of disobedience. Instead Adam to own up to his irresponsibility as the head of the house, he engaged in buck-passing. That is the situation of many Christians today. When they have been caught on the wrong side, they blame the devil, as if they see him face to face forcing them to do the wrong.

Where are you spiritually, in your career, life pursuit? Are you making progress? Are you stagnated? Have you been merry-go-rounding? Are you trying to move forward but to know avail? Has the quality of your prayer life changed? Have you added value to your life in any way? Are you excelling? Today, re-examine the entire fabric of your life and grade yourself. Ask yourself whether you are already there, or there are still more mountains to conquer. If you have fallen short like Adam and Eve, pick the pieces of your life together, go to Christ for forgiveness and restoration and move on. The downfall of a man is not the end of his life; but the beginning of another life and a golden opportunity to try again.

PRAYER POINTS
1.  Search me, oh Lord, and put me right wherever I have gone wrong.
2.  Holy Spirit of God, find me, heal me and save me.
3.  Father Lord, let Your Word find all unbelieving believers in our churches and save them
